Punit Brar
Articling Candidate for the Bar - January 2027
History:
Punit was born and raised in Surrey, British Columbia. After moving to the UK to pursue her law degree and after completion of the NCA process to be qualified to article in Canada, she moved to Penticton to article with White & Company Family Law.
Education:
Punit completed a Bachelor of Business Administrations and Accounting in 2022 and was working in the accounting field initially before realizing she was better suited to advocacy and shifted her career pursuits into becoming a lawyer.
Heart:
Punit grew up in a house full of women with grandparents as well as a twin sister. As the child of immigrant parents she noticed the challenges her parents experienced and the lack of representation reflected back in the professions around her family. This developed a desire to represent not only her own Sikh community but further all immigrant communities with a drive to make her clients feel safe and comfortable to seek legal representation.
Legal perspective:
As an articling student, Punit holds the belief that every client has the right to be heard and treated with respect. Punit believes that a client should feel safe discussing their legal issues and that an advocate should communicate with empathy and clarity to ensure they provide a safe space for each client.
