Stephanie Weidmann

History

Stephanie was born and raised in Calgary Alberta and gradually moved west from there, first moving to Kamloops for Law School and then eventually setting in Victoria, BC in 2020.


Education

Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) from Mount Royal University in Calgary. After graduation, she worked in advertising and communications, as well as indulging in some freelance writing. As is the case with many journalism graduates, she eventually applied to Law School, securing a spot at Thompson Rivers University in 2017. At TRU, Stephanie worked as a Research Assistant for Samuel Singer, assisting in the creation of a symposium on the evolution of Trans legal change in Canada. She also co-authored articles with Mr. Singer on the same topic. Stephanie was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2021.


Style

Navigating the legal system while simultaneously navigating the breakdown of a relationship can be completely overwhelming. Stephanie’s goal is for her clients to have a full understanding of the legal process so they can move forward with confidence.  Stephanie is known for fierce advocacy on behalf of her clients with a focus on finding creative solutions to their legal issues. She has experience dealing with a vast array of family law matters – from complex financial issues to fraught disputes regarding parenting and access.

 

Stephanie has represented clients in both the BC Provincial Court and the BC Supreme Court as well as the BC Court of Appeals.
